How do I apply for a Smart Visa?

Who can apply for a SMART Visa?
SMART Visa applicants must meet the criteria which must qualify by the designated government agency such as accredited science and technology expertise by the Ministry of Science and Technology. However, every country and everyone is eligible to apply for this visa if it meets the business requirements.
What is the procedure to apply for a SMART Visa?
There are 4 steps to apply for qualification endorsement for SMART Visa.
Step 1. Foreigners submit applications and documents according to the type of SMART Visa (T, I, E, S, O) to certify the qualification.
- In case of being abroad, you can submit through the embassy/consulate general to the SMART Visa agency at the One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit: OSS.
- If you are in Thailand, you can submit to the SMART Visa agency at the One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit: OSS.
Step 2. After the OSS has received all documents and evidence, they will coordinate with relevant agencies to verify and certify the qualifications of those applying for a SMART Visa within 3 working days.
Step 3. All related departments will notify the result and returning the OSS within 20 working days.
Step 4. The OSS will notify the result of the qualification consideration to foreigners who apply for a SMART Visa, the Qualification Endorsement Agency, the Immigration Bureau, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Department of Employment within 7 working days.
This process takes approximately 30 business days from the date the OSS receives the complete documentation from the applicant. Your application must be approved by the BOI, National Innovation Agency, Digital Economy Promotion Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other departments.
For those holding other visas type who wish to change your visa to a SMART Visa, you must apply for qualification endorsement for SMART Visa at least 90 days prior to the expiration of the original period.

After receiving the qualification endorsement for SMART Visa result from the SMART Visa Center (BOI), what should to do next??

How do a SMART Visa holders request for an extension of stay in Thailand?
You must submit a request to extend the period of stay in Thailand within 60 days before the original period is over, according to the process of the qualification endorsement for a SMART Visa and request for a visa stamp above.
Notifying the accommodation and 90-day reporting for a Smart Visa holders
Foreigners who hold a Smart Visa are required to inform the residence upon their stay in Thailand and must do 90-day report (TM. 91) every year from the date of permission to stay in Thailand or the date of last entry into Thailand at the Visa and Work Permit Service Center or other places specified by the Immigration Bureau.
Notifying the accommodation and 90-day reporting can do it 15 days before the due date or 7 days after the due date. If notified late, you will be fined according to the regulations of the Immigration Bureau.
Moreover, you will require to submit proof of status documents and up-to-date information every year after the date you receiving the permission of temporary stay in Thailand according to the format specified by the SMART Visa unit.
