Non-B Visa Extension service for foreigners working in Thailand

Non-B Visa extension is for foreigners who would like to continue their stay in Thailand for business purposes, to perform duties within a company. After the foreigners already received or extended their work permit, they can proceed to extend non-B visa, allowing foreigners to extend their stay in Thailand for another year (365 days). The visa extension is subject to the criteria and conditions set by the immigration office.

Required Documents

Documents Required from Employee for Non-B Visa Extension

• TM.7 application form
• 1 passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm)
• Original passport with copy
• Copy of work permit (all pages showing information)
• Personal income tax return (P.N.D. 91) of latest year, with a certified copy from the Revenue Department along with the receipt for document authentication fee, or income statement (if extending for the first time and tax return is not yet due)

From Employers and Companies:

• ST.1 Form certifying employment of foreign workers
• Letter explaining the necessity of employing foreign workers and requesting cooperation in visa processing
• Certificate of employment (as per Department of Employment form)
• Company registration certificate (not exceeding 6 months old) from the Department of Business Development (DBD), with certified document fee receipt
• Shareholders list (form B.O.J.5) not exceeding 6 months old from the DBD, with certified document fee receipt
• Certificate of legal entity registration (form P.K.0401)
• Tax registration certificate (form P.P.20), and P.P.01
• P.P.09 (in case of changes) and copies of other permits
• Balance sheet and profit/loss statement for the latest fiscal year from the DBD, with certified document fee receipt
• Power of attorney for company representation, with copy of ID card of authorized director
• Personal income tax list (P.N.D.1) for Thai and foreign employees for the last 3 months, with certified receipt from the Revenue Department, and certified document fee receipt
• Company Map
• Photos of the company premises showing employees at workstations or warehouse, 6-7 photos, including shots with foreigners and authorized representatives, showing clear company signage and address, 2-4 photos
• Acknowledgment of criteria and conditions for temporary stay in Thailand (form ST.2)
• Acknowledgment of overstay
• If family members are accompanying to stay in Thailand, require provide family supporting documents as well

What need to know about Non-B visa extension

• If it is the first time of applying for a Non-B Visa extension, the applicant is granted a 30-day stay to await approval for a 1-year work visa. Near the end of the initial 30-day period, applicants must present their passport for further consideration. After consideration is completed and approval is granted, a 1-year work visa is issued. If not, extensions will be granted another 30 days for consideration period until a decision is reached.
• Foreigners after receiving a 1-year non-B visa can stay continuously in Thailand for over 90 days and must submit a notification of stay to the immigration office. If require travelling outside of Thailand, need to do re-entry permit to maintain non-B visa. Otherwise, the visa may revert to a Tourist Visa or Transit Visa.
