Consulting Service for work permit application in Thailand

Foreigners wishing to work in Thailand must obtain a work visa (non-B) and their employer or company prepare employment contract and company documents which will then be submitted to the Thai embassy in their home country for consideration and issuance of the work visa (Non-B). Once the foreigner receives this work visa, they can travel to Thailand and apply for a work permit using Form 25.

If they already have a residence permit and Foreigner Identification Card, they can apply for the work permit using Form 25 without needing to obtain a non-B visa. Foreigners residing in Thailand on long-term visas, such as a dependent visa for a Thai spouse or a dependent visa for a Thai child, can also apply for a work permit.

This process must comply with the regulations and conditions set by the Ministry of Labor and the Immigration Bureau.

Tips for Renewing a Work Permit

  • Initial Work Permit Application: When applying for the work permit for the first time, officials may grant a permit for only 6 months, depending on the documents provided and the company’s past performance. Conditions for renewal may be specified for future applications.
  • Foreign Nationals on Non-O Visa: Foreign nationals residing in Thailand on a Non-O visa as dependents of a Thai spouse or Thai child can apply for a work permit under conditions similar to those of a Non-B work visa.
  • Company Performance Issues: If the company has poor financial performance, the company may be required to provide an explanation document. However, the final decision will be at the discretion of the officials.
